Adler Planetarium

The kids are really into the planets this year. Madeline had a field trip to the Clark Planetarium (at the Gateway in Salt Lake City) with her preschool class in the Spring. It is a tiny planetarium, but the few exhibits they have are top notch. We watched their movie called "The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket". Maddie was enthralled, and thus began our interplanetary educational adventures. When we moved into our apartment here in Chicago, we had to build a cardboard rocketship of our own. On July 19th we finally had the opportunity to visit the Adler Planetarium. This is one of the places that I had never visited before, so that made it more fun for me. Right now they are featuring a great exhibit called Zula Patrol: Under the Weather. We watched the movie and it was really educational and entertaining. The family sitting in front of us were in from out of town. The mom was the woman who does two of the voices in the movie. While playing in the exhibit area, we met her and she told us that Zula Patrol is actually a TV show on PBS stations. She thinks it is one of the best kids shows out there; clean, non-violent, and educational. We agree! We have been watching ZP ever since.
