Ravinia Park, Justin Roberts, and the Chicago Botanical Gardens

On Saturday July 14th, we drove up to Ravinia to see a Justin Roberts concert. (Justin is one of our favorite kids musicians, and he is a Chicago guy.) We had a picnic on the grass and heard some our favorite songs like Willy was a Whale, Imaginary Rhino, Backyard Spaceship and even better, Dad Caught Stars. Ravinia Park is gorgeous and I decided I want to live up in that area. The Botanical Gardens are beautiful too. Definitely a lot of picture moments to be had there. Many of the foreign tourists wanted to take pictures of Maddie and Max. Two Japanese girls wanted to take pictures with the kids. Max refused, but Maddie agreed. They said Maddie their "very own American Girl doll".

Max contemplating life.

If you look closely at this picture of the kids by the tree, you will see yellow pollen all over Maddie's face where she got too close to smell the lilies! What a perfect day!
